Payout Methods: Where Your Customers Can Withdraw
Every place a customer can take a Peer Pay payout: six payment apps, crypto on 13 networks, and currencies beyond USD on PayPal and Revolut. What each one needs from the customer, and what you switch on or off.
Six payment apps
A customer can withdraw a Peer Pay payout to any of six payment apps. They enter the account the money should go to, and the confirm screen shows it back before anything starts.
| App | The customer enters | Currencies |
|---|---|---|
| Venmo | Venmo username | USD |
| Cash App | $Cashtag | USD |
| PayPal | PayPal username and email | USD and 6 more |
| Zelle | Zelle email | USD |
| Revolut | Revtag | USD and 11 more |
| Chime | $ChimeSign | USD |
Another Peer user sends the payment from their own account, so it shows their name, not your business’s. The payment is verified before the crypto behind it is released to them.
Which apps ask the customer to verify
- Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal. The customer verifies their account once: Venmo in a browser pop-up, Cash App and PayPal through the Peer App Clip in Safari on an iPhone or the Peer app elsewhere. After that, each payment into the account confirms automatically, and later payouts skip the step. Some payments only go to verified accounts. Where it is offered, the customer can continue without verifying, and the person paying proves the payment instead.
- Zelle, Revolut, and Chime. Nothing to verify. The person paying proves their own payment before the crypto is released to them.
Currencies beyond USD
Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, and Chime pay out in USD. PayPal adds EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, NZD, and SGD. Revolut adds those plus CHF, CNY, MXN, TRY, and ZAR, 12 currencies in all.
You fund every payout in crypto and see it in USD, whatever currency the customer picks. USD is fixed at 1 USDC per dollar. For any other currency, the confirm screen shows an estimate at the market rate with no spread added, and the exact amount is set when someone starts paying.
Crypto on 13 networks
A customer who wants crypto picks a coin and a network and pastes their own address. Address and network mistakes cannot be undone, so the screen asks them to check first.
| Network | Coins |
|---|---|
| Base | USDC, ETH, USDT, SOL, WBTC |
| Ethereum | ETH, USDC, USDT, PYUSD, WBTC |
| Arbitrum | ETH, USDC, USDT, WBTC |
| Optimism | ETH, USDC, USDT |
| BNB Chain | BNB, USDC, USDT, WBTC |
| Polygon | USDC, USDT, WBTC |
| World Chain | ETH, USDC |
| Hyperliquid | HYPE, USDC, USDH |
| Arc | USDC |
| Solana | SOL, USDC, USDT, PYUSD |
| Tron | USDT |
| Bitcoin | BTC |
| Zcash | ZEC, to transparent addresses |
USDC on Base arrives in full, in about a minute. Everything else is bridged, and network and bridge fees come out of what arrives; the screen shows the estimate before the customer confirms. Bridged payouts usually land in a few minutes, ZEC within 30 minutes, and BTC within an hour.
What you switch on and off
- Your methods. Every payment app and crypto is on by default. Turn any of them off in the payout settings in the dashboard, and new payouts no longer offer it.
- One payout at a time. Pass the methods a single payout allows when you create it. It can narrow your settings, never widen them.
- The limits. Each payout is up to 1,000 USDC, in whole multiples of the payout step you set, and can arrive in one payment or a few.
Peer can also switch a method off for every business. What a payout costs on each method is in payout fees, and the customer’s side is in what to expect when you withdraw.
FAQ
Which payment apps can customers withdraw a payout to?
Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, Revolut, and Chime. Each one is on for a live business by default, and you can turn any of them off. Customers can also take the payout as crypto, or keep it as USDC in their own wallet.
Can customers withdraw in euros or pounds?
On PayPal and Revolut, yes. PayPal pays out in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, NZD, and SGD; Revolut adds CHF, CNY, MXN, TRY, and ZAR. You still fund and see every payout in USD, and the customer's amount is set at the market rate with no spread added.
Do customers have to verify their payment app?
On Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal they can verify their account once, so each payment into it confirms automatically. Some payments only go to verified accounts. On Zelle, Revolut, and Chime there is nothing to verify: the person paying proves the payment instead.
Which crypto can customers withdraw to?
ETH, USDC, USDT, PYUSD, WBTC, BNB, HYPE, USDH, SOL, BTC, and ZEC, across 13 networks including Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Solana, Tron, and Bitcoin. USDC on Base arrives in full; on any other network, network and bridge fees come out of what arrives.
Can I limit which methods my customers see?
Yes. Turn each payment app and crypto on or off in your payout settings, or pass the methods one payout allows when you create it. A payout can only narrow your settings, never widen them.
